A method I like for making more realistic and proper sized cornfields. I first thought about these for my 15mm American Civil War figures. In preparation for a game of Picketts Charge I was going through my tabletop terrain.
Of course, I had split rail and snake fencing. Then wheat fields made from old mats, including one you can move miniatures through and not on top.
But I had nothing to lay down for Cornfields. By cornfields I mean maize. The full size 8-10 ft ones. Even I could hide in those. They are a common feature of many ACW battlefields. Take the charge by the Union troops towards the Sunken Lane at Antietam.
All the alternatives I had seen just didn’t cut it for me. Then looking through my jungle terrain raw materials box I had inspiration.
This video shows you how I made 15mm cornfields for ACW/AWI in a quick and easy way.
