Here at Warpaint Figures we pride ourselves on being able toship worldwide and have loyal and great customers in the United States, for ourwargaming terrain, 3D printed miniatures and other scenic items.
Unfortunately, as some of you may know on 29thAugust 2025 President Trump will start to enforce 10% import tariffs on ALLgoods whatever the value. This is going to have significant impact.
Whilst the 10% in itself is not an issue it is the totalchaos around it that is.
There is no information on how these tariffs are to be paidand how the whole system will work. Technically it would normally fall on theimporter, i.e. our customers. But there are no instructions or proper guidanceabout what we as a UK business should be doing.
So there are a few options I can see going forward:
1. We charge the Tariffs at checkout along withpostage and then our usual carrier Royal Mail collect this and pay it to the USgovernment. There are rumours that they are working on some sort of ‘TariffPaid’ system but I have yet to see anything concrete. Plus we would have tofactor this into US shipping rates, possibly having to re-code our side tocollect the Tariff at checkout
2. We collect any Tariffs at checkout and pay tothe USA Customs department directly. Seems painless and seamless doesn’t it?Think again. There is no system or arrangement to do this currently and thereis the possibility of additional admin or processing fees on top as well. Inother words pay to access to pay more money for tariffs.
3. We can send as normal with the correct customsinformation as we normally do. This would mean all admin and fees would fall onyou the customer. Whilst we currently do this there is an $800 De Minimissystem which keeps this down most of the time. That is going so extra chargescould be significant for say a £4.75 pack of grass tufts even.
4. We can stop selling to our US customers permanently!I really don’t want to do tis as you can imagine for us and you. We are veryproud of our product made by gamers for gamers. We would like everyone to trythem and benefit.
Our biggest hope is that Royal Mail or other carriers can sort this out, we can get a simple plug in for the checkout and things can go smoothly.
So the main advice of this, if you live in the USA is:

(I have been informed as long as they are shipped pre-29th they should avoid the tariffs. I cannot guarantee this though)
AFTER 29TH AUGUST:
I have always had a great and friendly customer base in theUSA . The new tariffs are inconvenient badly organised and potentially costlyfor all our current and new US customers, Pus costly and time heavy for us as asmall business. Not the best scenario during show season here in the UK
We certainly don't want to lose anybody. So we're going todo everything we can to make this as simple and painless as we can.
